Mapster is a non-profit project which serves 400 - 600 dpi jpg scans of historical maps and town plans of Poland and Central & Eastern Europe. Originally, materials were sourced from three non-commercial projects:
- 'Map Archive of Wojskowy Instytut Geograficzny'
- 'Map Archive of Wojskowy Instytut Geograficzny 1919 - 1947'
- 'Map Archive of Western Poland'
Currently, scans come also from many other private collections, public archives and libraries and are provided, with owners' permission, for non-commercial purposes.
